Mid-Mountain. Here is an original photo that I took of a Pennsylvania Railroad train West of Altoona, Pennsylvania, during mid-December of 1967. Shown here (R to L) are PRR engines #6028 and #6054. Both were built by EMD. #6028 is an EF-25A built in 1965 and rated at 2,500 horsepower. #6054 is an EF-30A built in 1966 and rated at 3,000 horsepower. They are in the middle of a westbound mixed-cargo freight train on its way up the Allegheny Mountains to Gallitzin and points West. |
